Preview limitations

What is still in development.

Experimental means unfinished.

Sidekick has working source implementations for voice, screen context, personal assistants, skills, routines and desktop tools. This packaging revision is unverified. A published installer is not proof that every workflow succeeds on every computer.

Platform differences

  • Apple Silicon Mac is the initial development and acceptance focus.
  • Windows installation, launch and native desktop actions still need native Windows acceptance.
  • Linux requires AVX2. External app control, foreground app context, direct dictation and global hold-to-talk are unavailable. In-app voice is included.
  • Mac signing/notarization and Windows publisher signing remain pending.

Features still to develop

  • Task-scoped authenticated browser automation.
  • Suggestions based on recent connected-app content, with explicit source controls.
  • Broader original app guides and integration coverage.

What still needs real-world acceptance

Microphones, Bluetooth audio, multiple displays, shortcuts, native text fields, app control, live account login and revocation, clean upgrades and a broad range of model quality and latency behaviour. No full competitor parity claim is made.

A deliberate context boundary

Sidekick’s temporary context covers explicitly shared inputs. It does not silently recall an earlier unshared web page or keep a background browsing history.

Routines and support

Local routines depend on the app, computer and required services being available. This preview offers no uptime or support response-time guarantee. Review important outputs and actions before relying on them.
