Privacy notice

How the Retvest website, support enquiries and Sidekick handle information.

Updated 12 October 2026

About Retvest

Retvest is an independent project run by its founder. Retvest is the public project name and is not currently an incorporated company. The founder is responsible for this website and enquiries sent to Retvest. Contact: cliffordprince257@gmail.com.

This notice covers retvest.com and direct enquiries. The desktop app has separate technical privacy notes.

When you visit this website

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. It can process your IP address and request or network information to deliver pages and detect abuse. This site has no advertising or analytics scripts, embedded third-party media, account registration or payment forms.

The site's own pages do not set tracking cookies or store information in your browser. Cloudflare may use security cookies when its protection features require them. See our cookie notice.

Google Search Console is used to submit public website addresses for discovery in search. It does not add Google Analytics to this site. Following links to GitHub or another service takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

When you contact Retvest

Your email address, message and any attachments are handled through Gmail so the founder can respond. Providing an enquiry is voluntary, but a reply address and enough detail about your question are needed to help you. Sending an email does not subscribe you to marketing.

Please send only what is needed. Do not send passwords, API keys, private documents or complete Sidekick workspaces. Use the email address above for private reports; do not post personal support details publicly.

Why information is used

Where GDPR applies, the basis for website delivery, security and general enquiry handling is legitimate interests: making the site available, preventing abuse and answering messages people choose to send. These uses must remain necessary and balanced against your privacy rights. You can object using the contact above. A specific quotation you request may involve steps at your request before entering a contract; sending an enquiry does not create a paid agreement.

Retention

Our retention policy is to keep enquiry information only while needed to answer the enquiry, resolve related follow-up or security issues, or meet a specific legal obligation. The criteria are whether the matter remains open, whether the information is still necessary, and whether a documented legal reason requires keeping it. Unneeded personal information should be deleted or anonymised. This requires manual review; this notice does not promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days.

Cloudflare and Google also retain information under their own policies and service settings. Deleting an email from Retvest's inbox does not guarantee immediate removal from provider backups or records. Contact Retvest to request deletion or ask about a particular record.

Providers and international processing

Website traffic passes through Cloudflare; support emails are handled by Google. These providers operate internationally, including in the United States. Retvest does not promise EU-only processing.

Cloudflare's privacy policy explains its data use, retention and transfer safeguards. Google's privacy policy and data transfer information explain its practices. Their published safeguards include the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses where applicable; the linked notices explain their scope and how to request further information. This does not mean Retvest holds a certification or a verified business-account data-processing agreement.

Sidekick on your device

Sidekick stores local chats and memory on your device. Choosing a cloud model or connected service can send the context needed for that feature to that provider. Cloud transcription has its own setting and can send audio even when the chat model is local.

Workspace exports may include chats, memory, paths and generated thumbnails. Expired context can remain on disk, and the app's delete-data action does not erase external files, exports, backups or copies held by providers. Read the Sidekick privacy notes before sharing or deleting data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email cliffordprince257@gmail.com with your request and enough information to locate the relevant records; avoid sending identity documents unless necessary.

The website has no application or decision system that makes decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. Cloudflare may automatically screen traffic for security.

You can complain to the relevant data protection authority. In the EEA, this can be the authority where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. Ireland's Data Protection Commission is one such authority.

Changes to these practices will be reflected here with an updated date.

Software downloads

Installer links take you to GitHub. GitHub receives the download request, including your IP address and request information, and handles it under the GitHub privacy statement. Retvest can see aggregate release download counts. Sidekick does not add download tracking or app telemetry.
